Leather Pants

Leather pants are usually thought of as fashion items for women and at times for men. They also have a utilitarian function if they are to be used for motorcycle riding. While leather chaps cover most of the area that needs protection, for a few dollars more one can purchase leather pants. One size larger than your regular size is recommended.

Leather motorcycle pants come in two categories. One is called over pants. You must purchase at least a size larger than your usual size for these pants and they are a second pear of pants. An advantage of over pants is that you can remove them when you get to work or wherever you are going, if for any reason wearing leather pants will not be appropriate, e.g. working on Wall Street. The second category is an ordinary pair of leather pants that you can wear all day. There is nothing written in stone that says that leather motorcycle pants need to be worn only by bikers. The styles will fit in stylishly when used for other occasions.

Perfect for both casual wear and biking are the five pocket loose fitting leather pants in black. They are lined up to the knee and made of high-grade cowhide leather, which is kind of soft. For under $80 they can be yours. Made of premium buffalo leather which is not as soft are the over pants. Since they are removed the tougher leather will not be a problem.

Women too can enjoy leather motorcycle pants that will fit in for casual use as well. For the same price as the mens pants these five pocket pants are made from soft cowhide. They too are boot cut style and lined to the knee. If God forbid you take a spill on a motorcycle and are sliding along the street, nothing is better than leather pants to protect your legs. I learned this the hard way when wearing just a pair of jeans. The jeans were kind of thin and they were torn. I got a leg infection that was not serious, but could have avoided that with leather pants. As proof, I was wearing a leather jacket and the shoulder area was rubbed out which save my arm from similar damage as my right leg suffered.

Generally, everyone loves to wear leather pants especially women. Men too love the soft feel of leather but are inhibited by some of the negative stereotypes of men who wear leather. That is why if you ride a motorcycle you can get into wearing leather pants without worrying what other are thinking about you wearing leather. They know all bikers love leather.

The softer the feel of the leather, though it should be heavier when riding a motorcycle, gives all who wear it the feeling of being sexy, no matter what shape their bodies might be in. I am convinced both men and women find the opposite sex, shall we say sexier when they are clad in leather pants. Preferably leather pants should be on the tight side, but most pairs of leather pants will do wonders for your social life.

Lambskin leather is the most pleasing type of leather pants, but not usually used for motorcycle riding. This is the kind of leather which is the most alluring to the opposite sex. One pair to stay away from is the Italian Stone Leather type. It might be good for a knock around briefcase, but not for pants, not even motorcycle pants. They do not portray a classy appearance on or off the motorcycle, though they are quite inexpensive.
